Environmental Performance
The Louisiana Ammonia Producers have diligently worked to reduce emissions to the air, land, and water. Working with state and federal regulators and investing million in environmental upgrades, these companies have made tremendous strides in lowering their EPA Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) reportable releases. Within the ammonia producers organization, as is the case for the chemical industry as a whole, about one dollar of every four spent on capital improvement projects is directed toward environmental improvements. Our results have been astounding. From 1987 to 1999, we have reduced our overall emissions by 73 percent. Now that's good performance!

SINCE 1987:

CF Industries reduced total emissions by 60%.

Mosaic Phosphates has reduced total emissions by 92%.

PCS Nitrogen reduced water emissions by 85%.
