A SAFE WORKPLACE
Among the many things the Louisiana Ammonia Producers bring to your table is a commitment to operate safely. Since the unfortunate events of September 11, the Louisiana Ammonia Producers have taken appropriate measures to heighten security at their facilities. They have been in contact with state and federal agencies about
site security and enhancements. LAP members are committed to operating in a manner that is safe for our employees, the community and the environment.

A safe workplace is a top priority, and we continuously look for innovative ways to operate and maintain our facilities. Our employees participate in routine safety training programs and drills. In addition, continuous monitoring ensures all operations are running smoothly and efficiently, and air monitoring stations have been installed at our fence lines. A safe workplace is a top priority, and we are committed to maintaining a safe work environment for our employees and the community.

And this good safety record is paying off. LAP companies have individually received recognition and prestigious awards including the National Safety Award of Merit and CMA's Certificate of Honor and Achievement for Safety. Numerous LAP member companies have logged hundreds of thousands of work hours without a lost time accident.

Member companies of LAP also have a close working relationship with local emergency responders, and together we are prepared to respond to emergencies. To ensure proper emergency training, the LAP members recently constructed the Ammonia Suppression Training Station and donated it to the Louisiana State Police Emergency Response Center located in Holden, Louisiana (www.lertc.com). The station is the first facility of its kind to be constructed in the nation, and it will be used to train emergency response personnel such as firefighters, policemen and industry employees to effectively respond to actual ammonia releases.

In addition, all member companies of LAP have completed Risk Management Plans in compliance with new EPA regulations.

The Louisiana Ammonia Producers...It's what we bring to the table.
